Virtual tour of the brewery - KEG barrels filling room
The final stage of the production process takes place in the KEG barrels filling room, where beer at an over-pressure is filled into stainless steel kegs of 20, 30 or 50 litres volume.
During filling the keg travels all the time "head down". First, it passes through the surface cleaner, then through the keg inside-washer. At this stage, a thorough cleaning of the insides of kegs is carried out by multiple rinses with pressure water and cleaning solutions. The keg is then pressurized with carbon dioxide and hot steam at a temperature of 130°C to sterilize the inside of it.
Then the clean keg moves onto the filler. Beer is filled into kegs on a rotary filler, after passing through a flow heater, where it is heated up to a temperature of 67°C. It flows into kegs under the pressure of two atmospheres. After filling, weighing takes place (checking the accurate volume of beer in the keg).
Only then is the keg turned back to its "feet". Filled kegs are loaded on pallets, each carrying six kegs, and are moved to storage.
The KEG barrels filling room has a capacity of 460 kegs per hour.
